Desktop Videoconferencing Using Web Browsers Instructions
These instructions help illustrate how to use desktop videoconferencing within a Web browser.
Joining the Conference
- Open web browser and type videoconference.hvcc.edu in search bar
- Enter Meeting ID and Passcode (if necessary) that was provided to you and click Join meeting
- Verify that you see yourself and the blue audio indicator is moving when speaking. Click the speaker icon to verify your speakers are working. Click join meeting. You will see other participants if they are already connected.
Controls When Connected to the Conference
The following icons will appear when you hover your mouse over the browser:
- Layout allows user to select preferred option if desired
- Microphone allows user to mute/unmute your microphone. When muted, the icon is red and when the icon is gray, the microphone is live and participants can hear you
- Share screen if you would like other participants to see your computer screen
- Keypad allows user to enter numbers via DMTF (not used often)
- Red X disconnects from conference
